End Government Interference in Women's Personal Medical Decisions

The Issue

My personal experience is a testament to the need for change. Back in 2006, I had a miscarriage. My body struggled to expel everything, and I started bleeding to a point where my life was in danger. I urgently needed a dilation and curettage (D&C) procedure to survive.

If today's laws were in effect then, I would not have made it.

Women across the United States find themselves in a similar situation, where their personal, necessary medical decisions are being scrutinized, and sometimes even denied, by those in the government. All this is happening in a country where no man is denied medical care because the government says no.

This is about more than just abortion. It's about every medical procedure, every contraceptive, every decision that a woman makes about her body. Female body autonomy is crucial for equality, safety, and most importantly, for life itself.

Based on a 2020 report by the Center for Reproductive Rights, 47 states in the U.S. are considered hostile towards abortion rights. "Hostile" states impose medically unnecessary restrictions on abortion that infringe women’s constitutional rights. The report also states that in around 90% of American counties, there are no abortion clinics. This does not signify the absence of need, but rather illustrates the depth of systematic denial of women's rights to their own bodies.

It's time for a change. It's time to respect women's right to control their own bodies for any reason. Therefore, we must demand that the government relinquishes its power to dictate what a woman can or cannot do with her body. Please, step up and sign this petition to end government interference in women's personal medical decisions. At Federal, State and Local levels.
