End Dragon Favoritism: Promote Fairness and Equality in PGA
The Issue
Dear Students, Staff, and Esteemed Guests,
Today, I come before you to shed light on a pressing issue that not only affects our organizations and institutions but also the very essence of our society. Favoritism, the act of showing unfair preference to certain individuals or groups, has plagued our workplaces, communities, and even our governments for far too long. It erodes trust, stifles progress, and undermines the principles of fairness and equality that should be the foundation of our society.
As a concerned citizen residing in Miami, FL - a vibrant city known for its diversity - I have personally witnessed instances where favoritism has had detrimental effects on individuals' lives. Whether it is within educational institutions or professional settings, this unjust practice hampers growth opportunities for deserving individuals solely based on personal biases.
Favoritism not only breeds resentment among those who are overlooked but also perpetuates inequality by denying equal opportunities to all members of society. This issue is particularly alarming when it seeps into decision-making processes within government bodies as it compromises democracy itself.
To address this critical problem head-on and create a fairer environment for all residents of Miami:
1. We urge educational institutions to implement transparent admission policies that prioritize merit over personal connections or affiliations.
2. We call upon employers across various industries to establish unbiased hiring practices that focus solely on qualifications rather than personal relationships.
3. We demand local government officials to enact legislation prohibiting favoritism in public appointments or contracts.
4. We encourage community leaders to promote awareness about favoritism's negative impacts through workshops and campaigns.
It is crucial that we stand united against favoritism as it directly contradicts the values we hold dear - fairness and equality. By signing this petition today, we can send a powerful message demanding change like being able to vote for our student board , from those in positions of power.
Let us strive to create a Miami where everyone has an equal chance to succeed, regardless of their background or connections. Together, we can build a community that thrives on meritocracy and upholds the principles of justice and fairness.
Join me in signing this petition and let our voices be heard. Together, we can put an end to favoritism in Class of 2025!
Sincerely,
Pga students
