End Cyberbullying Inflicted by Social Media Influencer Rhonda Bobb

End Cyberbullying Inflicted by Social Media Influencer Rhonda Bobb
The Issue
In Queens, social media influencer known as Rhonda Bobb and Rhonda Dixon utilizes a physical space provided by aprivate business along with her personal residence to publicly invade the privacy, cause harm and ridicule the reputation of local business owners and customers such as Dave's Barbershop, Get Rel with Shameeza, and Shivram's Bakery to name a few along with elected officials, organizations such as Breaking Silence and Safari for hope and local residents on her social media platforms. As targets of her scorn, we have felt the harsh impact of these harmful actions, which is causing irreparable damage to our personal and professional lives.
Cyberbullying is a pervasive and growing issue. According to Ditch the Label, one of the world's leading anti-bullying organizations, over 60% of young people reported being cyberbullied in 2020, a number which undoubtedly increases as you expand this to cover adults being targeted as well (Annual Bullying Survey 2020, Ditch the Label).
In this digital age, it's crucial to create safe spaces online where people can interact without fear of ridicule, personal attack or privacy invasion. The situation in Queens points to a larger problem, indicative of the level of harm and distress that such online behavior can cause to individuals and communities.
We need to enforce policies against using social media platforms for such activities and hold Rhonda Bobb accountable for her actions. Simultaneously, we call upon the business in support of her rampage to reconsider their support for Ms. Bobb's actions, in the interest of creating a more respectful and safe online culture.
Please join us in standing against cyberbullying and the invasion of personal privacy on social media platforms. Sign this petition and demand for respectful and safe online space.
