I witness the horrifying reality of child abuse far too often. It's a heart-wrenching sight that no one should have to endure, especially not innocent children. Child abuse is a global issue that affects millions of children every year. According to UNICEF, nearly 1 billion children aged 2–17 years experienced physical, sexual, emotional violence or neglect in just one year (UNICEF). This is not just an issue; it's an epidemic.

Child abuse leaves lasting scars on its victims and can lead to severe mental health issues later in life such as depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder (American Psychological Association). We cannot stand by while our future generation suffers.

We need stricter laws against child abusers and more support for the victims. We need better education for parents and caregivers about the effects of child abuse. But most importantly we need societal change - we must stop turning a blind eye towards this issue.
