End Cannabis Prohibition in Texas Now

End Cannabis Prohibition in Texas Now
The Issue
Cannabis prohibition in the state of Texas is outdated, impractical, and counterproductive. Millions of Texans are denied access to a substance that could be used for medicinal purposes or personal enjoyment. Furthermore, prohibition enforcement costs taxpayers an estimated $734 million every year in Texas alone.
End THC Prohibition: Support Practical, Compassionate Cannabis Reform
THC, the psychoactive compound in cannabis, has proven medical benefits. It helps manage chronic pain, PTSD, anxiety, insomnia, and more. For many — especially veterans — it offers relief where pharmaceuticals have failed. Yet under federal law, patients risk arrest or losing benefits simply for seeking a natural alternative.
Veterans deserve better. They’ve served their country — they shouldn’t be criminalized for managing trauma or pain with a safer option than opioids.
Prohibition doesn’t work. It hasn’t stopped people from using cannabis. Instead, it has fueled mass incarceration, wasted billions in enforcement, and disproportionately harmed marginalized communities — especially Black Americans, who are far more likely to be arrested for possession despite similar use rates.
Most Americans agree: over 70% support legalization. More than 30 states have legalized medical marijuana. Nearly half the country has approved recreational use. Prohibition is not only harmful — it’s unpopular and outdated.
It’s time to decriminalize THC, guarantee access for those in need (especially veterans), expunge nonviolent cannabis records, and end the failed war on weed.
✍️ Even if you may not use the plan do you really one your state telling you what you can and cannot consume especially when it's not deadly? If the answer is no, sign this petition to support Cannabis.
