Dear fellow book lovers and advocates for free speech,

We are writing this petition to call for an end to unjust book censorship. We believe that every individual has the right to access information and ideas without certain restrictions. However, we have seen a rise in the biased censorship of books throughout the nation in recent years, which is a clear violation of our fundamental right to freedom of expression and thought.

The unjust censorship of books not only hinders the flow of knowledge but also limits the creativity of authors and the intellectual growth of readers. It takes away our ability to make informed decisions and deprives us of the opportunity to learn from different perspectives and ideas.

We urge governments, schools, libraries, and other institutions to stop imposing restrictions on books and let individuals make their own choices. In order for individuals to make more informed decisions on the books they read, however, we wish to implement a rating system on books which would be very similar to the way movies, video games, and other forms of media are rated. 

With a rating system and a clear label of controversial topics such as race and sexuality on a book, people will have a better understanding of what they can expect from a book before they read it. This will result in more of a choice for readers as they can choose not to read certain books with topics they may feel uncomfortable with rather than a book being totally banned for everyone in an area. 

We believe that the solution to countering controversial ideas is not censorship, but rather through the freedom of choice each individual can decide what is best for themselves. We should strive to create an environment where all ideas can be presented and evaluated on their merits rather than being banned. 

Therefore, we call on everyone to support our petition to end unjust book censorship, implement a national rating system for books and ensure that everyone has access to knowledge and ideas without certain restrictions. Let us work together to protect our freedom of expression and thought.
