Incredible support. Scottish Water has contact me (Lee Haywood) to attend the East Calder Wastewater Treatment Works (WwTW) for a site visit. I have attended before and am aware of the various Wastewater treatment processes. I will attend but refuse to be fobbed off.
The main gripe is the combined sewage overflows which occur when the WwTWs are overcapacity, which is fairly frequently during and following moderate to heavy rainfalls. If anyone would like to get involved in (Housing and) Blue-Green Spaces - West Lothian, then please get in touch.
This pollutes over river and leaves the banks with scrags including toilet roll and baby wipes along them. Scottish Water and SEPA may argue that this is within their regulations, but who wants toilet roll, sanitary products and wet wipes in the River Almond? we need to far more bolder and ambitious than that!
Hopw that you have a good weekend, and please continue to sign and share!
Let's strive for a cleaner, healthier and swimmable River Almond!
