Growing up in Jaro, Leyte, I've seen firsthand the incredible potential that our students hold. However, I've also noticed a gap in their involvement in school activities, which are crucial for building leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. I believe it's time for us to create an environment that fosters more active participation from students in our local schools.

In schools across Jaro, diverse activities—ranging from academic clubs and sports teams to cultural and artistic societies—offer students the chance to explore their interests and hone their skills. Yet, many of these opportunities are often underutilized. There are several barriers that our students face: lack of awareness about available activities, insufficient support in participation, and sometimes, even the absence of necessary resources.

To address these challenges, we need to initiate a comprehensive program aimed at encouraging participation.

1. Increase Awareness: We propose conducting an annual school-wide activity fair where clubs and teams can present their activities and achievements. This fair would serve as an interactive platform for students to discover new interests, understand the importance of extracurricular activities, and register their participation.

2. Enhance Support Systems: Schools should appoint dedicated coordinators who will assist students in navigating extracurricular options. These coordinators can provide guidance tailored to individual student interests and talents.

3. Secure Resources: It is imperative to collaborate with local government and private sectors to secure funding and resources necessary for these activities. This support will ensure that all students, regardless of their financial background, have equal opportunities to engage in meaningful activities.

Engaging more students in school activities is not just about filling clubs or teams; it's about nurturing well-rounded individuals who can contribute positively to our community.
