It's more than just a salutation; it's an expression of goodwill, respect, and peace towards the person we are addressing. However, I have noticed that many people outside the Muslim community do not understand its significance or respond appropriately.

This lack of understanding can lead to discomfort and miscommunication. According to Pew Research Center (2017), there are about 1.8 billion Muslims worldwide - nearly one-fourth of the world's population - who use this greeting daily. This makes it one of the most frequently used greetings globally.

Therefore, I urge educational institutions and social platforms to promote awareness about Islamic greetings like Assalamualaikum. By doing so, we can foster mutual respect and understanding among diverse communities.
