Encourage McDonald's to support children with autism

Encourage McDonald's to support children with autism
The Issue
Dear supporters,
We are reaching out to you today with a heartfelt plea to McDonald's, a beloved staple for many families world over. For families like mine in Waterford and countless others globally, McDonald's provides more than just a meal; it's a source of comfort and reliability for our children on the autism spectrum, particularly those with sensory needs who have limited food preferences.
Families with children on the autism spectrum often rely on 'safe foods'—specific items they can consistently eat without adverse reactions or refusals. For my child and many others, McDonald's is one such safe haven. Unfortunately, the frequency and necessity of these meals can become financially burdensome.
We're asking McDonald's to consider implementing a discount program or a special menu option tailored for families with these unique challenges. Recognizing the critical role that their meals play in the daily lives of children with autism could greatly ease the financial pressure on families and ensure that every child has access to their crucial "safe food." By providing a family-friendly meal option that is financially accessible, McDonald's would not only enrich its role as a community-minded enterprise but also demonstrate its commitment to inclusivity and support for all customers.
Autism spectrum disorder affects 1 in 54 children globally, according to Autism Speaks. With such a vast number of families potentially facing similar dietary challenges, McDonald's can be a part of a significant positive change for these families. By offering a solution such as a loyalty program, discount days, or meal subsidies specifically for valid cases of children with special dietary needs, McDonald's can make a commendable stride toward inclusivity and corporate responsibility.
Your signature will amplify our voice and let the decision-makers at McDonald's know that this issue deserves their attention and action. Join us in our campaign to make McDonald's meals more accessible for all children and support families facing similar challenges as ours. Together, we can make a difference.
Please sign this petition to encourage McDonald's to support children with autism and acknowledge the importance of 'safe foods' for families affected by autism across the globe. Thank you for your support. 🍟💙
