I John Hirst am fed up with getting into taxis with drivers licensed by councils outside of Greater Manchester. This has led to numerous issues like language barriers and cars that have faults, which do not meet Greater Manchester's stringent licensing standards. The moment you step into a taxi, you trust that your journey is in safe hands, but unfortunately, this is not always the case.

There is a growing trend of taxi firms hiring drivers licensed from outside our region. This practice undermines the quality and safety standards that Greater Manchester has diligently established for public transportation. When taxi drivers are licensed outside Greater Manchester, they may not adhere to the environmental and mechanical standards that our community has agreed upon for safety and sustainability.

Statistics show that using locally licensed drivers significantly reduces the potential for language-related misunderstandings and ensures that vehicles meet the required safety standards.
