Encourage Guinness to Produce a Gluten-Free Stout for Global Distribution

The Issue

Thirteen years ago, I savoured my last pint of Guinness before being diagnosed with coeliac disease. Living in Scotland, I am reminded daily of the rich taste and tradition that accompanies each glass of this iconic stout. However, as a coeliac person, I am unable to partake in this experience due to the lack of gluten-free options provided by Guinness.

Guinness is one of the world's largest and most successful beer brands. Yet, by not offering a gluten-free stout option, they exclude millions worldwide from enjoying their product. In fact, it is estimated that 1% of the global population suffers from coeliac disease (source: World Gastroenterology Organization). This equates to nearly 78 million potential customers who are currently unable to enjoy Guinness products due to dietary restrictions.

We are not asking for special treatment but rather equal opportunity - an opportunity for all beer lovers regardless of dietary restrictions or health conditions to enjoy a pint without worry or harm.

We call upon Guinness - with its vast resources and brewing expertise - to develop and distribute a gluten-free stout that retains its signature taste and quality. We believe that such an initiative would not only be commercially viable but also socially responsible; it would demonstrate inclusivity towards those with dietary restrictions while expanding their customer base.
