I am a student at Dormston School in Sedgley, Dudley, UK. I believe that the current school uniform policy hinders students' freedom of expression. We are living in an era where individuality and personal identity are celebrated more than ever before, yet our school continues to enforce a uniform policy that restricts this self-expression.

In addition to stifling creativity and individuality, the cost of these uniforms places an unnecessary financial burden on parents. This is particularly concerning given the current cost of living crisis affecting many families across the UK. According to The Children's Society (2018), parents spend an average of £340 per year on secondary school uniforms.

By eliminating mandatory school uniforms at Dormston School, we can foster a more inclusive environment that celebrates diversity and reduces financial strain on families during these challenging times.
