I, like many other Canadians, have had to watch as our country grapples with various challenges. For me, nothing has brought this country downhill faster than our current political climate, a sentiment I believe is encapsulated symbolically when our bobsled teams hurtle down the icy slopes in international competitions.

In the spirit of this metaphor - albeit with a touch of humour, I propose we throw conventions to the wind and suggest one of our Canadian bobsled teams name their sled 'Justin' or 'Trudeau' - after our current Prime Minister. This gesture may not change our nation's course but it will surely bring a smile or a chuckle even to the lips of those with differing political views. In case you didn't know, Canada has a rich history in bobsleigh. The sport was included in the first Winter Olympics in 1924 and Canada has since won several Olympic medals in it (source: CBC).

In a way, this petition is our collective luging into the fray, our determined sprint on a slippery slope. Let this stand as a testament to our Canadian spirit - to honour, to question, and to jest even in the face of headwinds that seem as cold as our wintry slopes. Please sign to support this move.
