Encinitas is known for its fantastic schools; creative and innovative leadership; and engaged parents. For this reason, we applaud the School District's efforts to continually learn and improve the education for ALL of our children. A few of weeks ago, the Encinitas Unified School Board instructed Superintendent Baird to explore ways to improve our schools for ALL of our students. We have just begun this process, and to date, the focus has been on capturing families' concerns. Because this is only the beginning, we ask that the School Board please stay on the path you have chosen until we find the responses to your initial question: what would be best for ALL our students. To date, the process has not afforded us the opportunity to share our productive, constructive ideas. Please do not stop the process before it is over. Allow those of us, which we believe are the majority, to have the space to be part of the solution, the vision, and the reality.
