Enact "Alannas Law" And DEMAND MORE for Mental Health and Homelessness!!!
The Issue
As our economy shifts to the poor and the wealthy in divide, new laws need to be enacted regarding mental health and homelessness.
My daughter Alanna as well as others in my immediate family and others in the community, have suffered from the lack of mental health care. To be specific, talk therapy/psychology coupled with psychiatry is crucially important. The mental health system is sending home kids and adults with developing and severe mental illness. Parents, friends and teachers are not equipped to care for the mentally ill as their therapist/psychologist, it's outlandish, absurd and cruel to all involved.
If my daughter had talk therapy/psychologist on her Goldcoast state insurance coupled automatically with psychiatry for her imminent triggers and mental illness, she'd still be alive today. Now my son is going down this slippery slope as well as others everywhere.
You cannot ask a mentally ill person if they want therapy/ psychologist. It's been and mostly will be a resounding "No." If talk therapy/psychology is included automatically with psychiatry, then they're OK with that.. as it's part of the recovery plan.
Thank you.
