We are allies to our undocumented peers, striving for a change that will significantly impact their quality of education. We believe in fair and equal opportunities for all students, including employment opportunities. Currently, many students are being barred from jobs they're qualified for simply because of their immigration status. This is not just an issue at the University of California (UC), but it is a nationwide concern.

According to the American Immigration Council, there are approximately 2 million undocumented students in the United States who could benefit from improved access to work-study programs and on-campus employment opportunities. These jobs not only provide financial support but also offer valuable work experience and networking possibilities.

We call upon the UC Regents Board - leaders who have the power to influence policy within one of America's most prestigious public university systems - to take action now. By allowing undocumented students to work on campus, Regents can set a precedent that other institutions across the nation may follow.

While we aren't affiliated with Opportunity for All, we share its vision for equal access and opportunity in higher education regardless of immigration status.
