More "tap on and tap off" options are needed to access the Transport for NSW system.

Right now, only contactless credit card payments can be made with your phone.

Public Transport Victoria already has an option to use the myki cards with a mobile phone.

New South Wales can do better than Victoria.

It is more eco-friendly and convenient to tap on public transport with your phone rather than ensuring you always have a physical card on you. 

By allowing Opal cards to be added to Apple Wallet and Google Pay, we can reduce plastic waste and make commuting easier for everyone.

Digital wallets are already widely used for payments, so integrating public transport cards is a logical next step.

We should urge the NSW Government to integrate Opal cards with mobile phones, either by updating the Opal Travel app or providing Apple Pay and Google Wallet support.
