Empowering Youth with Comprehensive Education and Support

The Issue

Teenage pregnancy is not a global phenomenon, but rather a lack of knowledge and understanding. It usually refers to teens between 15 and 19 years old getting pregnant (according to the WHO). Every year, an estimated 21 million girls aged 15–19 years in developing regions become pregnant, and approximately 12 million of them give birth. Research shows that teenagers who are pregnant can face a risk of experiencing complications during their pregnancy stage and childbirth. Educators should prioritize comprehensive sex education and accessible health care services for adolescents in order to address the alarming rates of teenage pregnancy. It may also be due to family, culture, and social pressure to marry, sexual violence, or forced marriage.

Every young person should be able to have access to accurate information about their sexual health. We urge that the schools educate and inform their students to make informed decisions about their sexual health to prevent unwanted pregnancies.

By supporting this petition, you are calling for the attention of schools to address teenage pregnancy and create a better topic about it. Support me in addressing this issue to make a difference in the lives of teenagers by empowering them and opening them to more opportunities.
