Empower Youth Voices: Advocate for Social Change in the HUMSS Strand
The Issue
I am the concerned student of Crecencia Drusila Lopez Senior High School of San Pablo City, Laguna, Philippines and I believe that the voices of our youth, particularly those in the Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) strand, need to be heard. Our young people are not just the future; they are also our present. They have unique perspectives on social issues that can contribute to meaningful change. However, these voices often go unheard. In fact, according to a study by UNICEF Philippines (2018), only 30% of Filipino youth feel their opinions are valued by adults. This is particularly true for students in the HUMSS strand who study societal issues as part of their curriculum but lack platforms to express their insights. This petition aims to create more opportunities for HUMSS students in San Pablo City schools to voice out their views on societal changes through school programs such as debates, forums and symposiums. By doing so, we can empower them and make them active participants in shaping our society. We call upon local government officials and school administrators alike to take action on this matter. Let's give our youth—the heart of HUMSS—the chance they deserve to influence social change within our city and beyond.
"Empowering Youth Voices: Advocating for Social Change in the HUMSS Strand" is a call to action for students in the HUMSS (Humanities and Social Sciences) strand to sign up on Change.org. By signing up on this platform, students can amplify their voices and contribute to meaningful social change.
Signing up on Change.org provides a platform for HUMSS students to create and support petitions that address various social issues. It allows them to voice their concerns, share their ideas, and rally support from their peers, educators, and the wider community. Through this platform, students can advocate for causes they believe in, ranging from environmental conservation to human rights, education reform, mental health awareness, and much more.
By signing in on Change.org, HUMSS students can join a global community of change makers and be part of a collective effort to create a positive impact. It offers an opportunity for them to engage in meaningful discussions, collaborate with like-minded individuals, and gain exposure to diverse perspectives and ideas.
Furthermore, signing in on Change.org provides a platform for HUMSS students to develop essential skills such as critical thinking, research, persuasive writing, and effective communication. It empowers them to take charge of their education and become active participants in shaping the society they want to live in.
In summary, signing in on Change.org under the title "Empowering Youth Voices: Advocating for Social Change in the HUMSS Strand" offers HUMSS students a powerful platform to raise their voices, advocate for social change, and contribute to a better and more inclusive world. It is an opportunity to make a difference and be part of a global movement that values the power of youth voices in shaping the future.
