Employee Rights For DBA Florida Home Improvement Associates

Employee Rights For DBA Florida Home Improvement Associates

The Issue

The Facts:

FHIA provides home improvement services including Roofing and Impact Windows all over Florida.

This company operates at each Sam's club and BJ's in the state of Florida. We, (employees) earn commissioned sales which are not transparent to the lead generator to confirm sales. This creates a reasonable doubt as to whether the company is withholding commissions and not paying out employees accurately.

Talks with HR and officers of FHIA have been futile. FHIA also refuses to provide seats at thier expense in accordance with FL Statute XXXI Chapter 448 Section 448.05 despite numerous attempts to accommodate workers. They also refuse to provide employees with Rights Notices at each location. These are the posters all employers are required to have by OSHA.

The Challenge:

The company boasts they are a 100 million dollar company. They have hundreds of employees all over Florida, yet they cannot buy a $20 chair for each location and refuse to provide the rights posters. Government agencies refuse to do anything until we are terminated and damages occur. We seek to resolve this without termination as the work is enjoyable.

We hope to gain enough signatures by concerned citizens and employees of FHIA to shed a light to these issues and start a public dialogue.

Resolution:

This will happen only when lead transparency, Rights Notices, and seats are provided to employees.
