It has been 27 years since the untimely passing of Eric 'Eazy-E' Wright. He did a lot for the city of Compton and he deserves to be remembered for that. Which is why a street being named after him is appropriate. 

Before Eazy-E, Compton was only known to its residents, but as soon as he came out with his hit 'Boyz-n-tha-Hood', he made it clear that he was from Compton. He made sure the whole world knew about Compton. He put Compton at the heart of his music, and was the reason why he made music. Eazy-E formed the group N.W.A., and their album 'Straight Outta Compton' changed the world. They made it okay for everyone to speak their mind, whether it be in their music or a book, they changed that for everyone. Eazy-E made sure to put Compton in the title of their debut album, and its a project that people still listen to, to this day. Or refer to it in difficult periods, such as the cold murder of George Floyd.

What he did for the city cannot be replicated. People tell stories of when Eazy-E used to give out turkeys to families in Compton during thanksgiving, or toys to the children of Compton during Christmas.

We all know and love Compton today because of Eric Wright. Other entertainers, have had streets named after them after their passing, who although are great, have not done half of what Eazy-E did for his city. It is long overdue, Eazy-E needs a street named after him in the heart of Compton, to commemorate his services to the city.
