Dragons is the perfect fit for Emerson. The current Emerson mascot, the Mavericks, is unfavored by the public. A Maverick is described as an unbranded calf or yearling. I personally would rather not be associated with 1) Logan Paul's dead bird and 2) an inexperienced young animal. As well as being unfavored, the Emerson Mavericks would be compared to the Dallas Mavericks or otherwise associated with them.

With symbology, the Dragons is a playoff of the Independence Knights. The ying vs. the yang, the hero and the "villain". Dragons are seen as fierce, loyal and powerful, and in eastern mythology symbolizes wisdom, and hidden knowledge.

With location, the only other school in Texas that has dragons as their mascot is Round Rock Highschool which is 3.5 hours away.

With design, Dragons also has a lot of references for clip art and logos. And on another note, unlike the Mavericks, it has a set animal for their mascot. What is a Maverick?

People that go to Emerson want to be proud of their mascot. Wear it with pride and not just be apathetic about it. Make it have meaning, and as said before Dragons are the natural enemy to Knights. And so, we all know is the mascot for Independence, the school we originally were going to. It brings us back to our roots.

Many disagree with the school's choice of mascot and majority are saying that it's rigged or they don't like it/indifferent. Personally, I have not met a person who has voted Mavericks (unless it was popular in the other schools.) Dragons is the perfect fit for Emerson.
