Petition updateAsk your senator to vote FOR Amendment 1518Legislative Update - A Win for the Puppy Mill Dogs

7 May 2015
Thank you to everyone who called and emailed your state senators. LB 360 passed unanimously! The amendment put forth by Senator Al Davis was a close vote but lost with 22 yeas and 19 nays - not enough to pass. However, there was some very good discussion both on and off the floor. Senator Jerry Johnson, who proposed LB 360, promised that if the amendment put forth by Senator Davis did not pass that he would place the language into the regulations used by the Department of Ag in inspecting commercial breeding facilities. Last night was a win for the puppy mill dogs. We will be closely monitoring to make sure that the Department of Ag is upholding the new laws and regulations. Thank you for your spectacular efforts. You reached your senators in large numbers and it made a huge difference. If you get a chance, please thank Senator Al Davis, Senator Jerry Johnson and Senator John Kuehn for their tireless efforts on behalf of the animals suffering in puppy mills. We are grateful for their efforts as well as yours.
