URGENT PUPPY MILL ACTION ITEM - PLEASE CALL OR EMAIL YOUR NEBRASKA STATE SENATOR NOW, AND SHARE, SHARE, SHARE WITH YOUR FRIENDS! Tomorrow or Wednesday, LB360 goes to 2nd vote (select file) by the full legislature. PLEASE ASK YOUR SENATOR TO SUPPORT LB 360 AND THE AMENDMENTS THAT WILL BE INTRODUCED BY SENATOR AL DAVIS AT SELECT FILE READING. The original bill includes language to make seizure of dogs suffering in puppy mills more economically feasible by putting the financial burden for their care on the breeders and would get the dogs out of the court system faster. It also provides for increased fees for dog breeders in the state to help fund the Dept of Ag, the inspecting body, and has language adding a state cruelty investigator. The amendments proposed by Senator Davis will provide for a continuous supply of potable water in clean containers, add illness rather than only injury to the definition of significant threat to the health or safety of a dog or cat, add specific language regarding feces and urine accumulation, and strike acclimation as an excuse for not providing shelter or protection from extreme weather. The opposition is out in full force, so we must make our voices heard on behalf of the dogs suffering in puppy mills. Now is the time.
Please use this link to look up your state senator and leave them a voicemail or send them an email tonight or first thing in the morning asking them to VOTE FOR LB360 AND THE AMENDMENTS PROPOSED BY SENATOR AL DAVIS - http://www.nebraskalegislature.gov/senators/senator_find.php. The dogs suffering in puppy mills thank you for your continued support.
If you would, please leave us a message on our Facebook post once you make the call or send the email. Your action may inspire others to take action as well. We have to show the senators that people who wish to see dogs treated humanely far outnumber those who wish to continue to neglect and abuse them.
