Tomorrow morning, LB360 as worked on by Senators Jerry Johnson, Mark Kolterman, and John Kuehn, goes to the floor for first vote by the full legislature. It needs to receive 25 votes to keep it alive and move it to select file. HUA supports LB 360 and wishes to see it move forward. It has added language to make seizure of dogs suffering in puppy mills more economically feasible by putting the financial burden for their care on the breeders and would get the dogs out of the court system faster. It also provides for increased fees for dog breeders in the state to help fund the Dept of Ag, the inspecting body, and has language adding a state cruelty investigator. Some refinements are needed. That will happen at the next stage when the bill moves to select file. We just need to make sure that it passes tomorrow.
