The Fontana Unified School District (FUSD) special education director Dr. Williams has betrayed her duty to the citizens of Fontana by creating a toxic environment within the Special Education Department (SELPA).  She is using our hard earned tax dollars to victimize the most vulnerable children in the district—students with disabilities. 

Since her arrival in 2021, multiple families have filed complaints with the California Department of Education (CDE).  The State has found that FUSD, under the leadership of Dr. Williams, has repeatedly violated children’s rights.  CDE ruled that FUSD was “out of compliance” with state and federal laws.

Documents (obtained via Public Records Act requests) show that FUSD: 

·        Used $600,000 of public funds (one contract in 2021 and another in 2022) to hire the law firm of Fagen Friedman & Fulfrost to litigate against students with special needs through June 30, 2023. 

·        Used $800,000 of public funds (one contract in 2021 and another in 2022) to hire the law firm of Atkinson Andelson Loya Ruud & Romo to litigate against Fontana families through June 30, 2023. 

Dr. Williams actions and tactics include intimidation, retaliation, and harassment to parents of children with special needs. She uses Fontana tax dollars to hand out millions in contracts to lawyers which she uses as her personal attack dogs against families. She has recently initiated legal action against a student with Down Syndrome to get the State to issue an order for the district, instead of the parent, to make educational decisions about the student.  This is essentially the government taking custody away from the parent as related to the student’s education.

Please stand up for parent rights, protect our tax dollars and help disabled students in Fontana. Sign the petition (you DO NOT have to reside in Fontana) asking the Board of Directors of Fontana Unified School District to remove Dr. Jacqueline Williams from her position as Special Education Director.   Please SIGN the Petition, and SHARE with others.
