Eliminate Tiger Time from Martin County High School Schedule

Eliminate Tiger Time from Martin County High School Schedule

The Issue

As a student at Martin County High School, I find that the implementation of "Tiger Time" is not only unproductive but also detrimental to our academic progress. This time slot, meant for learning and improving mental health takes away valuable time that could be used for catching up on coursework or getting ahead with schoolwork. It also places unnecessary strain on our students, and teachers who could utilize this period for grading papers or providing additional instruction.

Moreover, the subtraction of these minutes from other classes creates a significant impact over time and hampers our preparation during testing days when every minute counts. According to the National Education Association (NEA), students who have access to study halls show improved academic performance and reduced stress levels.

We propose either replacing Tiger Time with an additional study hall lasting half an hour or removing it altogether from the schedule. This change will allow us to make better use of our time at school and enhance our learning experience.

We urge you to consider this proposal in light of its potential benefits for both students and teachers at Martin County High School in Palm City, FL. Please sign this petition if you believe in maximizing educational efficiency and promoting a more conducive learning environment.
