Eliminate the Use of the Amaze Program in Our School's Health Education Classes

The Issue

This matter is particularly personal to me as a parent. With my 5th grader starting health education classes, I've learned that our school intends to use the Amaze website as an educational resource. Regrettably, this site features video content that I, and many other concerned parents, deem inappropriate for our young children.

National data reveals that vast numbers of parents are increasingly worried about the suitability of online material in their children's education. According to a 2019 survey by the National Cyber Security Alliance, over 60% of parents express concern about the content their children are exposed to online.

In light of this, it's crucial we scrutinize the resources used in our schools. We believe health education to be of utmost importance. However, the Amaze program, with its questionable approach to sensitive topics, may not be the best medium for this crucial education.

We urge the school district to reconsider its endorsement of the Amaze program for teaching health education. There are numerous other resources available that can impart the necessary knowledge effectively, and in a more age-appropriate manner, ensuring our children receive a quality education that aligns with our collective values.

Please, join us in this plea for a healthier learning environment for our children. Sign and support this campaign to eliminate the use of the Amaze program in our school's health classes.
