The Florida Department of Education currently mandates the use of the i-Ready program as part of its curriculum. However, this program has proven to be outdated and unengaging for many students. Numerous children find it boring and often complain about having to use it, indicating a lack of interest and engagement that could negatively affect their learning outcomes. Furthermore, not all children require this type of enrichment; many would benefit more from hands-on learning experiences that are more engaging and relevant in today's fast-paced world.

In fact, according to research by Stanford University’s Center for Research on Education Outcomes (CREDO), student engagement is crucial for effective learning and can significantly improve academic achievement. This suggests that forcing students to use a program they find uninteresting may hinder rather than help their educational progress.

We urge the Florida Department of Education and all those responsible for curriculum decisions to reconsider the mandatory implementation of i-Ready in our state's education system. Instead, let us focus on providing diverse, engaging educational experiences tailored to meet our children's individual needs.
