i-Ready, an online program used in many schools worldwide, has been a subject of concern for parents and educators alike. The program is designed to provide personalized instruction based on students' individual needs. However, it has been criticized for its lack of human interaction, potential for data privacy issues, and questionable effectiveness in improving student outcomes. According to the National Education Policy Center, there is limited evidence that such programs improve student achievement (NEPC). Furthermore, a study by the American Institutes for Research found that students who used i-Ready did not significantly outperform those who did not use the program (AIR). For these reasons and more, we call upon educational authorities in Seven Farthum Point, Nigeria and around the world to reconsider their use of i-Ready in classrooms.
