My personal experience with GoGuardian in my school has been far from beneficial. Instead of aiding in the learning process, it has become a hindrance. My teacher uses this tool to block everyone's computer for the day, making it impossible for us to learn effectively.

GoGuardian is a software that provides teachers with the ability to monitor and control students' internet access during class time. While its intended use is to prevent distractions and ensure students are staying on task, misuse of this tool can significantly disrupt education.

According to EdTech Magazine, 50% of high school students and middle school students admit they are distracted by digital devices in class (EdTech Magazine). However, completely blocking access may not be the solution. It's important that we find a balance between maintaining focus in class and allowing students access to necessary resources.

We need our schools across America to reconsider their use of GoGuardian or similar software. We should aim for an educational environment where technology enhances learning rather than hinders it.
