On February 14th, 2022, a ban was placed on a users account for this message - 2022-02-13T22:26:12Z zacharydbooth: Using gay like a slur lmao

While at first, we can understand how this could be flagged by a computer algorithm, what they fail to understand is the context of the message. 

I was being horrifically victimized and harassed by homophobic players in the Apex Legends game. They started by asking if I was gay - they said they’d leave if I was because that was nasty. Then once confirmed, they called my Faggot, fag, and told me to kill myself over and over again. They also said I was going to hell because I’m gay. I reported them every single time via in game reporting system. In hopes to stand up for myself and stop the bullying, I typed in chat “I’m reporting you.” They said “why?” And i responded (with the message in review,) “Using gay like a slur lmao”

I was simply explaining why I was reporting someone. Because they were using gay like it was a slur. They were making the word feel dirty. I felt dirty. 

i know what you’re thinking - just submit an appeal to EA. I have - multiple times. I explained in great detail what I’m explaining to you all, my fellow gamers who care about our well-being.

The last response I got from them is that after a second time of “thoroughly investigating twice” they determined that I am still breaking the rules and considering this case closed. 

Please help me show EA why this case is not closed and why I was wrongfully suspended. I wish I could explain to you what it feels like to be blatantly discriminated against by a massive company - but I can’t. It is indescribable. Please help me.
