I am a lifelong train enthusiast and advocate, deeply passionate about the potential of rail transport. One particular area of interest for me is Florida's Brightline train service. However, it saddens me to see that very few trains in the United States are electrified, including our own Brightline.

Electrification of trains offers numerous benefits. It reduces dependency on fossil fuels, decreases air pollution and noise levels in urban areas, and increases efficiency and reliability of the service (American Public Transportation Association). Yet despite these advantages, only 1% of the rail network in the U.S is electrified (U.S Department of Transportation).

By electrifying Brightline with overhead catenary systems - a proven technology used worldwide - we can make our beloved train service more sustainable while improving its performance. This would not only benefit us as passengers but also contribute to Florida's efforts towards a greener future.
