El Monte Jets Football Injustice

El Monte Jets Football Injustice
The Issue
I want to share my story and experience with the people about my sons first time registering to play football with the El Monte Jets. From the very beginning there was red flags. I’ll explain- my son had missed registration but he has great athleticism so there was strings pulled to get him to play. I understood that there were parents and other players turned away because “registration was closed”. We did miss registration and I did think it was unfair for the other players so I was okay if my son didn’t play. Blanca the Athletic Director made a choice and overruled everything stopping my son to be on the field. Next, my first parent meeting with team moms and athletic director - I walked into some drama and almost a physical altercation between team moms and athletic director . The meeting was hostile and I obviously did not know the history. There was animosity and I wanted to know why. I asked a parent to fill me in and they explained that the athletic director was holding the meeting to let the parents know that our team would not have a homecoming game, all other teams would but we are singled out due to a previous game that was held between us and a surrounding city (Pico Rivera) and that we were being disciplined due to one of the parents action. Two parents got into a fight and one of them was a coach ( coaching on our league) and that we also lost our home field due to police enforcement showing up to this event. The parents were upset that Blanca the athletic director allowed him to come back and coach even after this incident. I was thinking how can I help how can we get the homecoming game back and also why are the players being punished for the adults actions. I asked Blanca the athletic director “what if we asked our league to sit out the homecoming game all together as a team” it’s not fair to single out our team. She replied “if you want to do that go ahead , I’m not going to do that you can go ahead and ride that boat if you’d like” but I’m not going to ask. It was my first year and I was a little discouraged and also no one knew who I was so I did not think I would be able to change that. Furthermore, on opening day I volunteered to help sell food at the teams tent and witnessed the athletic director along with her husband drinking during the game and not having any respect for the game. I was asking around for information about who do I contact if I have a suggestion or complaint ? I was given the information but I was also advised that they are friends and that it is a dead end and I would be wasting my time. A couple games later , on a Saturday the only game of the season on a Saturday and I mention this because it’s the only time I missed a game. I had to work and I dropped my son off on time at the East LA Field. That day I was accused of driving in aggressively into a parking lot and almost running someone over, this is what I was told by Blanca over a phone call. The result of this story led to my son being kicked off the league on Tuesday the 11th after practice and she asked him to take his football gear off his back in front of players, coaches and parents. There are multiple witnesses, and it is not okay to ask a child to undress without their parent being present . Blanca had already made a verbal agreement with us the parents that we would return the equipment and sign off. That never happened, i wanted to walk away with no issues when she called me and accused me of the incident in East LA only because the league does not follow their own rules and there is a lot of other shady things they do. I just don’t like how they run it, they do what they want and how they want and don’t follow their own code of conduct. She believed their story and without asking me for my side she said “due to these accusations i have to remove your son for the league” i replied no worries that’s okay we will return the equipment and sign off. The verbal agreement was broken and she singled out my son and made decisions based of hear say and not facts. I called her after finding out that she had my son do this in public and breaking the verbal agreement, she admitted to doing so and then she tried to apologize. I have all of this in a voice recording that I took during our phone call. I stared to investigate and ask more about the league and found out more events of injustice and that going to the president of conference would not help. I made a police report and she “technically did not commit a crime “ but police officials agreed it was wrong and suggested I speak to the city. I did that also, I am asking for help to have this person resign from their position. I want to change the course of future events so that next time this is not handled this way, I think all stories should be heard and if needed so subpoena the surveillance videos from East LA to not take witness statements but to clarify what really happened that day. I also think it was not fair to humiliate my son that way and to kick him off the team based of a story. None of the adults involved were put together into a meeting, the decision was done and made. I ask to please sign this petition to put someone better and more qualified for the position. During my investigation other parents concerns were;
*her own board questions her about how much Money the league has
*her own board stating they haven't seen the BOOKS
*her own board wanting to file a petition to kick her out due to not showing the books/money
*her own Vice President stepping down
*their tax ID is suspended
*also the teams have questioned her about the money they fundraiser on El Monte Day for their team. They all came out short and took months for them to get it.
*She is unprofessional rude, unorganized.
*composive liar (says one thing and does another) never owns up to what she says.
*They made everyone pay cash. Their is no paper trail. That's not how a league should run especially a non-profit.
I don't understand why the City of South El Monte would support and donate services to a league who can't seem to properly manage themselves.
