With the Pandemic taking a toll on everyone and the number of cases rising up to 6 lakhs in India, examinations for college students for this academic year are being conducted online mostly.

But, the recent decision of Calcutta University to consider the test examination marks of final year(Part 3) students of UG has created a huge unrest among the students and has jeopardized the career of many.

Test examinations are conducted at a time when the colleges are yet to finish with their syllabus and the students do not have enough time to prepare and prove his/her respective capabilities that they might, in the final exams.   Secondly, There are many students who have been unable to write their test examination due to ill health or unavoidable circumstances who will now get no marks at all. Lastly, even the teachers tend to mark the students stringently in the test exams than in the final exams for a better scope of improvement.

Thus, it is extremely unfair to be considering an exam that the students themselves were not aware of being considered. There can be better ways of evaluating and the students demand a change in this decision.
