A ban on the sale of fur apparel in West Hollywood will have devastating effects on retail businesses. This proposed ban will assuredly leave more empty storefronts, a loss of jobs, inability to bring in new retailers, an exodus of current stores to nearby cities, and loss of tax revenue that supports residential improvements and social programs.

Over the past decade hundreds of thousands of dollars have been spent to attract fashion and design brands to establish West Hollywood as an international shopping destination. The result of this effort can be seen throughout the city...not solely by the caliber of these businesses and the taxes they pay, but by the quality of life residents enjoy.
