Skateboarding provides an outlet for many people, for mental health reasons, community, and sport. The sheltered spot behind the Edinburgh University is a popular skate spot for both students and non students. However, the recent addition of skate-stoppers have rendered the skate community extremely frustrated with the lack of support and inclusion the university is offering for skateboarders. While there is a large stigma surrounding the sport, we believe that skateboarding is inclusive, positive and comes with no harm to the environment or university. Please sign this petition to pressure Edinburgh university to remove the skate-stoppers, or fund a new skate spot for the community.
