Edinboro University should return to the original COVID-19 safety procedures

The Issue

Edinboro University has made an execution less than a month before classes start to go entirely online after telling people for months that school would return in the Fall of 2020. Students have made it extremely clear to many people how they are being affected, and the anger, sadness, and frustration this has caused. Many seniors, especially in the art and health sciences courses, may not be able to graduate due to labs and studio courses required. Freshmen in these areas as well may have to completely change their curriculum to avoid these classes that would completely change the rest of their 4 years. Many freshmen have talked of revoking their tuition and either going to a different university, or taking a gap year. The health and safety of students and faculty should be first, but allowing a fair education to all income groups and majors should be a priority as well. The students only wish that the university return to their original COVID-19 plan as it was, or allow many more students on campus than the planned 175 to allow these students to complete their year as they need, or start it strong for a better 4 years. The need for change is now, and as quick as possible.
