Badin Lake and surrounding residents are demanding oversight and accountability over Handy Sanitary District's unfair and unethical business practices. Bullying, threatening, no "standard" in billing and monthly charges, and no explanation of irregular billing. 

• Monthly charges have gone up with no explanation
• Water shut off unless their demands are met
• Civil subpoenas issued to those who cannot afford to pay
• No consistency on "deals" made with residents regarding sewer hook-up and cost involved
• Broken promises on all fronts, even those in writing
• Threatening and bullying tactics and lies to force people to hook up to sewer
• Targeting lakefront residents that they consider to be "second homes" under the assumption that the homeowners "have money"

We demand that someone step in to evaluate and regulate what appears to be a monopoly by an organization that makes the rules as they see fit, as they go along, to benefit themselves. Residents have been lied to, bullied, and taken advantage of and it's time for some controls to be put into place.
