The Illegal pet market in Chennai is a big  hidden secret . The pets sold here are not vaccinated and can die from infections and spread infections too.Alive chickens are sold with paint on them.The roosters they sell are used for chicken fights which is illegal .Some of the shops also sell foreign birds which are meant only for conservation since some of them are rare and not for selling purposes.Most of the animals there are in a  poor condition and the sellers don't even have license to sell animals and all of this is completely against the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act (1960).
