Student loan company ECSI dishonest practices
The Issue
I graduated college with a degree in mathematics from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2014, and have student loans. Most of them are held by Navient, and one is now held by ECSI (That one was bought and sold many times so it varies). In November of 2020, I lost my job due to covid. I had assumed that since I received an email that federal student loans were on hold due to coronavirus legislation I didn't have to worry about it much, but two weeks ago I received an email from ESCI that I am 8 months behind on payments! I tried to submit an unemployment hardship deferral, but since I'm behind on payments I'm denied!
The solution is to get the word out about these practices and hold companies accountable. They had my email THIS WHOLE TIME but nothing until it became extremely behind and hard to fix. Let's get the word out about these company practices instead of let them keep doing this to people!
