Allow posters, fliers, etc. to be hung on EIU’s campus without administration approval.

The Issue

In recent years, Eastern Illinois University has made it mandatory for students, faculty, staff and members of the community to get approval from the Campus Scheduling Office to hang fliers, posters, etc. around campus.

This is unconstitutional and violates our First Amendment rights.

A public university should and needs to allow the freedom of expression and sharing of ideas among students, faculty and staff in all aspects. This includes hanging posters, fliers, and signs without approval from the Campus Scheduling Office.

No voice should be shut down.
