🚨 COMMUNITY RALLY TONIGHT 🚨
East Windsor residents and supporters — please stand with us.
🕠 5:30 PM
📍 East Windsor Town Hall
🌧 Rain, snow, or shine
We will gather before the Board of Selectmen meeting to show our community stands for protecting farmland and demanding responsible solar siting.
Media will be present. Your voice matters.
Bring neighbors, friends, and signs.
Let’s show our leaders that East Windsor cares about its farmland and its future.
More than 2,300 people have now signed this petition to protect East Windsor’s farmland. Thank you for standing with our community.
But the fight is not over.
The developer behind Gravel Pit Solar has already proposed another large project — Saltbox Solar — which could target even more farmland in East Windsor. If we do nothing, this could become the next project moving through the same broken process.
At the same time, Connecticut has had a draft policy on solar siting on farmland sitting unfinished since 2023. The draft recognizes that prime farmland should be protected from large industrial solar development — yet because it has never been finalized, projects like this continue moving forward.
That is why we are calling for two urgent actions:
• Complete and adopt the state’s solar siting guidance for farmland
• Implement a moratorium on large-scale solar development on prime farmland until those rules are in place and the Connecticut Siting Council is reformed
Our farmland, food supply, and local communities deserve thoughtful planning — not rushed decisions that permanently convert agricultural land.
Tonight our community is rallying before the East Windsor Board of Selectmen meeting.
Media will be present, and we are asking residents and supporters to stand with us.
