ESU has recently decided they are not returning for the fall semester. However, many bigger schools in PA with up to 99k students are going back to school in the fall while ESU only has around 6,200 students. For educational reasons, ESU students want to return in the fall. Us students do not learn well online and have a bigger chance of failing or doing poorly in classes our first semester. Because of this many students are transferring or dropping out. Freshmen and transfer students especially will have a difficult time with online learning considering that they have never learned in a college environment let alone an online college environment. Not to mention, our international students will have a much too difficult time trying to manage online classes with up to a 15 hour time zone difference. Pennsylvania has had 0.008% of its entire states residents reported with COVID-19, less than 1% of the state. ESU earlier gave out guidelines to follow before suddenly and unexpectedly shutting down two weeks after these guidelines were made. Us students can follow those guidelines easily to protect ourself and others. We want our education and we will not be benefited by online classes. Let ESU open for the fall semester!
