Deny Development of Low Income Housing Nearby
The Issue
We the undersigned have come together with great concern in regards to the possible development of a housing project that will in many ways cause congestion, an increase in motor vehicle accidents, loss of and/or relocation of wildlife and open space and personal property value.
The traffic on Township Line Rd is already at a maximum with accidents occurring at least once a month at the intersection of Township Line and Pothouse. The school district bus hub of Wolfington comes down twice a day with their fleet of over 50 buses to transport all of the local students to and from school and extra curricular activities. Traffic is usually backed up a quarter of a mile during rush hour. Adding housing for 60 some people will not bring this number down with the proposed outlet to the development a mere 100 feet from these crossroads. I personally watch 2 or more cars a day drive down Township Line Rd and go right through the 4 way Stop sign.
On this small plot of land which has been undeveloped forever, obviously for a reason, you have local wildlife who make their residence here. To mention a few :The Red Fox, Red-Tail Hawk and Deer none of which have caused any accidents or harm to anyone or themselves. What a beautiful site for your back yard in contrast to lights, noise and 3 two story buildings not to mention parking lots .
Lastly, there is no need for another commercial property being developed in a high residential neighborhood that has been in existence for over 70 years. Property value is rising in Phoenixville .Why should ours go down because of one decision that will effect hundreds of people. Some of these families have grown up on the exact property that they reside in to this day . We will not tolerate this and will fight for this development to not be approved and suggest there be another alternative to a more sensible location namely along Schuylkill Rd to mention one area. This would be more beneficial to the residents of the future complex as there is no access to SEPTA, without walking 1/2 a mile, as this would be along an existing bus route on RT 23/724.
I hope you take all this under consideration before moving forward and approving this development and also will not have to change any zoning ordinances . With that being said we rest our case.
