Ease Earth's Suffering: Utilize Soda Glass as aggregate in producing cement products.

Ease Earth's Suffering: Utilize Soda Glass as aggregate in producing cement products.
The Issue
A significant quantity of glass waste is produced each year. However, only a small portion of that waste glass is recycled, while huge amounts of soda glass are simply dumped in various landfill sites. This contributes to the solid waste problem around the country. In Marikina, solid waste management continues to be a challenge in the community, leading to air pollution, water contamination, and soil contamination. Improper management of solid waste, such as soda glass scraps can have detrimental effects on our health and the environment.
Innovating ways to reuse soda glass scraps will divert tons of solid waste from landfills, reduce the energy needed to dispose such waste, and decrease the amount of carbon emitted during the glass production and disposal. Furthermore, using an alternative recycled material to produce cement products will reduce the air pollution and soil contamination caused by the quarrying of sand aggregates. Utilizing soda glass as an aggregate in manufacturing eco-friendly and cost-effective cement products is a win-win solution to address the pollution and waste management problems in our community.
Many people tend to ignore this kind of issue; however, if we do not take immediate action, our environment will suffer even more. While it may not be visible to some, climate change is worsening day by day. It is caused by carbon emissions and pollution. Therefore, if we fail to act now, we will inevitably face tremendous consequences. Furthermore, there is not enough land area to accommodate the solid waste we produce each year. If we do not innovate ways to reduce solid waste, the time will come when we have to live among our own garbage.
