Damien Doe started this petition to DYLAN KLEIN and

Dylan Klein is a Senator in SA who needs to be removed from office and recalled. His membership in College Democrats came to an end when he was emailed about sexual assault allegations the club found out about. He was told to resign if there was any potential that the allegations were true and that there would be an investigation if he did not resign. Dylan resigned. The proof of this can be found on our IG page @recalldylanklein

During his time in SA, he has shown his lack of moral character. He has talked over the BIPOC community and forced his opinions on them. He has tried to speak for the BIPOC community without being a member of this group. Dylan Klein has written a law and proposed it to the Student Association Senate which entailed his own opinion on marginalized/BIPOC struggles on campus but has not reached out to anyone that identifies as a member of these marginalized groups for their experience. He has called the Student Association President, a black man, "threatening" in the press for no reason. The Albany Student Press article about the toxic culture of SA this year found no witnesses to confirm that SA President did anything of this nature. The link to this article can be found on our IG page @recalldylanklein

Klein also filed a lawsuit at the beginning of this year against SA. This caused the fall election to be stalled. He is the reason us students have not received our rightful funding. This is just the tip of the iceberg with how Klein has used SA as his own platform, and not one for the students. Last year he was outspoken about freezing student salaries in the middle of a pandemic. It is unsurprising to see how he has ruined SA this year given his track record and character as a person.

Klein is not the person we deserve representing us. The lack of action on the Student Association's part to remove him is concerning. It is time we take matters into our own hands and sign the petition to recall him. We just cannot let this go on any longer. Off campus students, is this really who we want to represent us even one more day?
