Revision of Canada's & BC Mental Health Organization / Act.

The Issue

Revision of Canada's and BC Mental Health Organization and Act.

What this petition is about.

My petition is directed to the following parties:

- Both Provincial and Federal Levels of Government

- The Local BC Organizations that partake in the caring and well being of the the mentally ill, regardless if they are not homeless or are HOMELESS ADDICTS & MENTALLY ILL.

Currently, today's society is struggling with mental illness.  Almost on a daily basis, every news media agency is reporting on the deaths, criminal acts from the mentally ill, and drug addicted people of BC

https://globalnews.ca/news/7724025/six-people-taken-to-hospital-north-vancouver/

The rehabilitating of these mentally ill, regardless if they are homeless  or not, or are homeless addicts or mentally ill, are simply not being done. Absolutely no excuse for the public to be enabling their behaviour.

Although these folks on the current news clips may not be homeless and are suffering quietly in a hotel room or shared accommodation, or  perhaps they are homeless and are addicts or mentally ill.

They may also be obtaining some government services, such as seeking  clothes, being fed at the shelters and soup kitchen, and supplied a temporary solution for shelter. However,  they are being allowed to continue going about on a daily basis with NO TREATMENT OR REHABILITATION for their mental illness or addictions.

Unfortunately, the current enablement from the public is not acceptable, nor should the lack of government accountability!

Sure the government will support drug addiction with safe injection sites, but no actual treatment or monitoring of the mentally I'll is a huge concern and should be brought to the attention of the medical professionals,  the authorities and other emergency services, aswell as the  government ministries and departments.

As I've said once before, this is a huge Red Flag that needs to be attended to immediately. The current way the government is dealing with mental health the mentally ill, and addictions is not safe for the public nor is it safe for the addicts or mentally ill.

A great idea since the government  is slow to act, maybe we should depend on local charities and organizations to take on more responsibility and take more action to establish a MEGA SHELTER to accommodate the demand and volume for treatment and rehabilitation throughout BC for the mentally ill  and addicts.

I am from nanaimo  and our city is getting a bad reputation  from homeless addicts and mentally ill.  Our city is under siege, not to forget Vancouver and Victoria aswell.

Its unfortunate that the  nanaimo, victoria and vancouver mental illness and addictions clients that are hardcore addicts or have a form of mental illness simply either do not submit to treatment or rehab options.

Yes it's their choice, however do they, are they thinking clearly enough to deny any treatment or rehab? Obviously the percentage of these people who need help is very high, and on the increase.

Simply put forward point blank... do you choose life or death? Choose now!

This must be a cooperative and joint agreement that the mental health act, and counselors, charities, organizations and the government must partake and resolve this social problem of todays society.

The easy and lazy methods of rejecting the opportunity to get clean and ability to take medications to help with mental illness or addictions simply doesnot cut it in todays society. It's time to get clean and live.

Therefore I am calling on these politicians, Provincial / Federal departments of government, and local charities to do more.

Mental Health requires immediate action to prevent further problems, and like it or not, The American solution to treat mental illness, and drug addiction is to apply 51 50 or as it is stated in Ontario Canada.

There are no other options. Tough love is the solution folks. Time for action is now.
