I believe many of us as humans can agree that the Jungle Book live action remake did not reach the full potential that it could have. One of the glaring opportunities that the Disney executives had missed out on, was the casting process. Most glaringly, the fact that Mowgli was not played by the famous wrestler and actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Here are the following reasons as to why the movie should be remade with Dwayne as the leading star of the famous childhood story: 

1. The Rock’s job is jungle. Dwayne has a history of taking part in jungle/rainforest settings, and thus has the necessary training to navigate the Jungle Book’s world, which I think makes him fitting for the part of Mowgli. He can transfer his own knowledge of Jungle survival into the character, rather then using pre-planned, choreographed actions.

2. By making Dwayne The Rock Johnson Mowgli, you give the character a new depth that has not been seen before in any other such adaptations, that of making him a middle aged man. (Mowgli will still be 10).

3. It is closer to the source material.

4. He would hit off well with other cast members that we have in mind, e.g. Samuel L. Jackson as Bagira, Kevin Hart as King Louis and Josh Brolin as Shere Khan (petitions coming soon).

5. It would be funny.

If we join together as one, we may be able to breath new life for a new generation to enjoy The Jungle Book.
